Monday Night RAW kicked off in a big way this week as Braun Strowman made his return to the company in devastating fashion.

Over a year ago, Braun Strowman was shockingly released by WWE pretty much out of the blue. “Budget cuts” were the official reason given, but it was still a surprise since Strowman had been a main event guy for the past few years.

Rumors began swirling last week that Strowman was indeed returning to WWE under Triple H’s regime, and it was more of a WHEN than an IF. Well, we didn’t have to wait long as Strowman appeared in the first hour of RAW.

Earlier in the night, The Miz and Ciampa came up on a flipped-over car in the parking lot and seemed to think it was something related to the mysterious Dexter Lumis who seems to be a lot of the chaos backstage recently. It wasn’t revealed if the car was Strowman’s doing, but it was a bit of a trademark for him in the past.

The first match of the night was a fatal 4-way tag match for the number one contendership but Strowman’s familiar music hit and he proceeded to destroy everyone, including security and officials. It’s not yet clear why Strowman is back or who he may feud with, but his initial return definitely made an impact

This return is interesting since most of Triple H’s re-signings have been his projects from NXT, but Strowman was already an established main roster star and former Universal Champion. Bringing a monster back into the fold has us thinking Triple H definitely has ideas for him, as the last regime pretty much wasted Strowman and had him falling victim to the “corny nice good guy” syndrome that has plagued so many.

One thing is for sure, Braun Strowman is back, and under Triple H’s leadership we’ll hopefully see a much better version of “The Monster Among Men” –
