BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – WWE Champion John Cena has suffered a complete tear of his right pectoral tendon and is heading into surgery, according to noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Because of the seriousness of the injury, WWE officials will not allow Cena to compete this Sunday at No Mercy, and he will have no choice but to surrender the title.

Dr. Andrews said Cena could miss between six and eight months of action. Cena was injured during his match Monday night on Raw with Mr. Kennedy. Before visiting Dr. Andrews, Cena had said, “No matter how serious, the injury, one way or another I’ll be ready to compete on Sunday.”

But despite Cena’s vow, WWE officials will not allow him to compete at No Mercy. Therefore, he must surrender the WWE Championship.

WWE officials vow that there will be a WWE Championship Match this Sunday at No Mercy and a new WWE Champion will be crowned.

Stay with UWR for further updates on Cena’s condition and on No Mercy as they become available.

  1. Thank you GOD! It seems that God is the only one who was able to beat Cena.....and the wrestling world has been rewarded FINALLY after all these years, with NO MORE CENA. Wow, what will it be like to watch RAW without a Cena vs. 4 tag teams, Umaga, and Mr. McMahon match with Cena beating them ALL? This is so great, FINALLY, we can enjoy WWE to some degree again! Everyone join in on the REJOICING!

  2. Well....rejoice alone because this is the worst that can happen to WWE...Without John Cena as the wwe champ....you'll have all those losers trying to take control...and oh...now that MR-I-The-Legend-Killer as the new WWE Champ....gosh...we'll be all dying...he's just like Edge...looking for power and success....I'm sure we'll even have a come back of Evolution with HHH & Ric-Flair....Batista transfered to Raw to fill the blank..... And oh....
    just BORING.

The day Cena was drafted to Raw was what save the show....Because they had the opportunity to make a story with Batista who wasn't drafted yet.
